Commission art
Little Light – a poem
Little Light as a perfect Brilliantis artwork
Little Light is a commissioned artwork for a start-up writer who makes his public appearances under the pseudonym Calcath. This work is a demonstration of my skills by the year 2020. I needed a commission where I could once more showcase my abilities to and present the deepest precision as I imagine it. Especially if it is a Brilliantis. I simply fell in love with the shiny color scheme and am proud of this combination of pen and ink drawing, oil painting, and aquarelle. The work is treated and preserved to resist the ravages of time for centuries. This includes a UV protective glass over the the final product as submitted.
Details of the artwork
A theme fine-tuned to the last detail
The assignment was based on Calcath’s poem, Little Light, and subsequently on his idea of plains covered with the dead over which the Little Light shines. The setup for elaboration of details and sketches was not overly formal or too decent. The two of us met bohemian-style in a pub over beers, surrounded by blasting metal music and dim lights, somewhat under the drinks’ influence and inspiration, and together came up with the ideas of the caustic darkness filled with open bestial mouths, human remains with a reddish light glowing from beneath, and e.g. the illuminated dark horizon of the landscape.
