Creation of the work

This work was my fourth oil painting. I began creating this work in public, at the 2nd Infernalismus Party, which I organized together with Jan Majerníček at Necropolis music bar. It seemed like a wonderful idea to paint on an easel during a metal concert. Those were lovely times, with all this being possible.

Message of the artwork

The painting Transformation is about ecstasy of the moment when a creature that looks like a human being renounces its appearance and turns into a monster. To understand this piece, it helps to look at it from the point of view of a person who has realized their ID (it) aspect, gotten to know their inner animal, and reached a certain peace of mind by resolving their inner conflicts between superego / ideals and lower instincts. For someone else, it might look like the end of a conflict in TAO. The end of struggle between the dark and the light ideas, with the dark side in us at last acknowledged. The creature in this painting recognizes the baseness of its animal instincts and willfully indulges in them. Here it is exaggerated to look inhuman, frighteningly monstrous. The main emphasis is laid on the relief, strength, and calmness which come upon this acknowledgment.

Why did I donate the painting?

I was proud of this painting for many years. It is my free creation with a theme which required a fair amount of inspiration. Giving it away was not part of the plan – I saved it for myself and had it appraised by an expert. I wanted to be sure of at least an approximate value that was not purely subjective, because in my eyes the work was very valuable. I was not interested in selling it without adequate financial compensation, let alone below cost.

In 2016 I came across the lectures of Urza, who deals with the topics of anarcho-capitalism, the free market, and the amoral principles of the state as a legalized violent organization. Since these lectures, their content and messages gave me a lot, I finally decided to thus offer artistic support to one of the greatest propagators of libertarian ideas in Bohemia. I certainly do not regret this act, as Urza does an awesome job. He published one of the most successful books on the subject in the Czech Republic, gave many interviews for the Free Harbor channel, and wrote an incredible amount of economic articles for the Mises Institute in the Czech Republic.
