The story of this unique commission order
This commission has a deep history, going back to the time when I started my career across Prague as a very poor artist around in year 2010. I started meeting people who became my first clients and very close friends too. on whom it was possible to lay the first building blocks of my artistic career. Thanks to that, it was possible to start making a living as a full-time artist. Officially. I was born with artistic soul.
It was very common to use nicknames among ourselves that came closer to expressing your own personality than, say, “Honza Novák” (something abouth John Rookie, John New). That’s when I met my friend Raziel Windhale, who became one of my first clients and new close friends.
It’s interesting that even after so many years, we manage to maintain our friendship remotely. And the client of this commission is none other than his wife Herdis, with a deep interest in religious studies and a spiritual purpose in paganism, not just Sumerian mythology.
Tuchniques
The work took approximately six months to create and I was honored to serve the objectives of the assignment. Technically, it is a typical Brilliantis, where my first step was to use traditional line drawing and another phase I was then colored with oil paint. Everything was done on textile paper until the actual conservation ensuring the longevity of the painting. I will take great pains to preserve the artistic legacy for future generations.
PS: The work is incorrectly signed on the original. I don’t know why, as the author I got confused and by some mistake dated it to 2015.
