Story of the artwork and its origin

For myself, it is indeed important that Leviathan was the first small (and really small) artwork I made with the Brilliantis technique at the client’s request. The commission was about depicting four entities as perceived through individual perspective.

The client could not afford to pay much for the commission but wanted the highest possible quality. This time I didn’t announce working on the project to the public. Otherwise I almost always do.

Experimenting with innovation and constant improvement are essential for me in my work.

I only informed my close circle that I had probably come up with something new and it already had a name. It is a difficult and time-consuming technique, but the result is fully worth it. Anyway, considering the low price, we had to minimize the format so as to not reduce the quality of the work.

A peculiar fact is that the client is of the Satanist faith, which is why he wished to remain anonymous. Leviathan was the first but not the last work commissioned by the anonymous private collector. The whole commission at that time consisted of a collection of four entities to depict (Leviathan, Satan, Lucifer, and Belial). I was pleased that the client did not perceive Leviathan as some monster. Rather, it was considered as a gigantic spiritual creature with an unearthly intelligence unattainable for humanity. An essential part of the assignment was the wish to have the mythical Leviathan portrayed in a calm pose with no signs of aggression.
